The highest tower in Argentina?

Recently, the president of Argentina Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, announced the construction of the tallest building in Argentina. The construction will be in the Demarchi Island. They promised to finish the building in five years. The announcement was made the 9th of September of this same year. Recently she was having conflicts with the United States, and some people think that she wants Argentina to be better than the U.S.A. 

The construction of the building will cost about $2.500 million pesos, and not everyone is happy to hear that. Argentina has been having a lot of problems economically, socially and politically speaking. Prices are getting higher and many people cannot live with their regular salary. That announcement made a lot of people oppose the word of the president, and made angrier the people who were already against her. In other words, she said “this island has the magnitude of the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building in New York. But it doesn’t matter because ours will be more beautiful because it is in Buenos Aires”. Two years ago, she told us about the creation of a Polo Audiovisual which has not shown any progress since then. So we are not sure if this will actually happen, because according to some people “she does not do what she promises”. 

It is a public-private initiative between the State and the company RIVA SA. With this announcement, she seeks to revive the project of the Polo Audiovisual that emerged two years ago. In fact, the building will have studios and offices of TV channels and production companies, the last 13 floors will be reserved for a private hotel that most probably will be very expensive to pay. "No matter what president will be, he is committed to continue," said the Head of State, and assured that the work will be comparable to the Central Park in New York.

People in Argentina are not happy about the announcement of this project, they think that it is a waste of money. They say that a lot of things can be solved with that money that they placed in this project.
